What- Earned Student of the Month Award

When- March 2019

Where- Bowie High School

Why-Jen has always gotten good grades, and is always finding ways to help her pass all of her tests to get good grades through extra credit to boost her GPA and balance her extracurricular activities.

How- She finds and creates different study techniques to help her memorizes and pass all of her tests with A+'s. She is also very involved in soccer and dance which help bring up her academic scores.

On March 5, 2019, Jen ____ was awarded student of the month at James Bowie High School.
Jen became the student of the month because,
"She is always completing all her homework on time, studying for tests, and looking for extra credit to help boost her GPA and her grades." Jen said.
Her main rule for success is using multiple different study skills to study for all of her tests and quizzes so she can get the best grades possible in her class.
She is very involved in her extracurricular activities outside of school too, she strives to be the best on her soccer team and she "practices as much as she can in order to improve her dancing skills."
Learning how to balance her outside of school activities and her school work is very important to Jen because it lets her learn how to manage multiple tasks at one time and still succeed,
"which will be very helpful in the future."

1. When I was looking at the photos of African wildlife I noticed that all of the animals in the pictures looked really majestic and fierce. These images also show the real beauty of all these creatures in their natural habitat. The Camera

1. The "Camera Obscura" effect is when light is coming from the camera and projecting on to the wall in a dark room. It is created when you are in a dark room and there is a small hole in one wall where it is focused and the outside scene is projected upside-down on the other wall. 2. In the 17th century the high quality glass lens helped man come one step closer to creating the modern camera. 3. The parts of the modern camera were a glass lens, a dark box, and a film. 4. modern digital cameras and Niepce's camera both allow light too pass through the lens, into the camera, and expose the film which both result in a picture. 5.  digital cameras capture the images with an electronic sensor called a CCD. 6. Magazines Part 2

1) Image Based- Image Based magazine covers are the most common because they have less objects in it which make it more clean/ simple and less busy looking. Celebrities or fashion usually take place on the cover, and side shots can cause a more dramatic feel to the photo. 2) Illustration Based- Illustration Based magazines are not so common now as they used to be in the mid 20's and 30's but are now used more for comedic effect, or to present something funny. The magazine covers that use illustrated covers are independently published magazines that do not rely on newsstand sales. Also the illustration can draw eyes to it if it is drawn properly but, at the same time it is risky. 3) Type Based- Type Based magazines are also not very common but more common than the illustration magazines.
