Africa

Image
1. When I was looking at the photos of African wildlife I noticed that all of the animals in the pictures looked really majestic and fierce. These images also show the real beauty of all these creatures in their natural habitat. As well as showing what life is like for those animals daily, catching and eating their prey, and taking care of their young. 2.  3. This is my favorite photo by Nick Brandt, because the background is nice, dark, and stormy, which makes the zebra in the middle of the frame pop. 4. The photography rules that are used in this photo is simplicity, because the plain, solid background brings the attention to the patterned zebra. 5. Nick Brandt uses the 67 shutter lens when he is taking photos, although it is not a high tech type of lens, he likes to use it because of the way the photos look when he looks at them through the ground glass. 6. Photography was merely the best medium for him to express his feelings about animals, and the natural world. 7. Aperture, Shutter Speed, and ISO

Image
The photo above was taken at a F2.8 aperture The photo above was taken at a F16 aperture 1. We should closely relate our eyes to aperture 2. The smaller the aperture the higher amount of light gets in, the higher the aperture the less light gets in. 3. Aperture impacts depth of field because it can make a photo look more sharp and focused, or it can make a photo look more blurry. The photo above was taken at slow shutter speed. The photo above was taken at a high shutter speed. Great Black and White Photographers 3

What first caught my eye when looking at this photo was all the different parts of the image. As you are looking closely at this photo you will start to notice more details about the pic that stand out, like how crossing right through the middle of the picture there is a rainbow, but since it doesn't have any color your don't notice it as quickly. Also in all of this photographers photos when you are looking at them, it makes you starts to imagine what these nature pictures would look like if they had color. In this image I smell the the salty air blowing around me, as I feel the warm ocean water reach my feet standing on the grainy sand as the water slowly build up around my ankles, and then gradually lessen as the water pulls back into the ocean. While standing out on the beach, with the warm sun shining down on me. I hear the sea breeze pushing past me onto my face allowing me to taste the salt captured in the air. In this image, as I am walking I can feel the icy

Photo Manipulation and Ethics

Image
1.  Usually photoshopping comes down to "ethics vs aesthetics" and "art vs journalism",  and  anything that can alter the original scene captured by the camera can be deemed unethical. 2. The philosophy is that n o colors will be altered from the original scene photographed 3. I think that you could lighten the colors or clean up the photo a bit I think that this photo is unethical because they took the head and body of 2 completely different people and merged them together. They didn't even to want to use Oprah's real body so they used  someone else's body instead. That conveys a false advertisement of what Oprah looks like. I think that this photo is the most ethical because they didn't do any major change to this photo. The only main changes were smoothing out her skin and the clothes edges, and lightening up the picture. I think that this image was the least unethical because the only noticeable change was  shr

Peer Critique

https://mallorysblogboi.blogspot.com/2018/09/academic-shoot.html 1. In her pictures I like how she was able to take really good pictures and have them meet the photo composition rules, as well as have a clear understanding of what the subject is in the photos.  2. Something that she could improve would be having more of a variety when taking the pictures because all of the descriptions seem the same.

Academic Shoot Reflection and Critique

1. Some challenges that I encountered while trying to take my photos yesterday were probably trying to capture someone working with out them turning up blurring in the picture and having people not pose for the photo. 2. I found myself concentrating the most on making sure my camera was focused at all times. 3.I would try to make sure that I focused more on following the composition rules while taking the photos. 4. I would probably take the photos at the dame angles and focus the camera the same. 5. Rule of thirds and focusing the camera. 6.  Simplicity and balance. 7. Balance and I can go over the slide show.

Academic Photo Shoot #3

Image
1. The composition rule that I followed in this picture is lines. 2. The main focus in this picture are the 2 students in the center of the frame. 3. It is clear to tell what the subject is because there are lines surrounding the students in this image which attracts the eye towards the center of the picture.

Academic Photo Shoot #2

Image
1. The composition rule that I followed in this picture was rule of thirds. 2. The subject of this photo is the girl off to the left of the photo 3. I think that the subject of the photo is very clear because she is the only full person in the frame and she is not directly in the center of the picture but off to the side which gives the picture a sense of space.

Academic Photo Shoot #1

Image
1. The composition rule that I followed in this photo was simplicity. 2. The subject in this photo are the 4 students in the middle of the frame. 3. I think that it is clear what you should be looking at because there a simple solid colored background behind the people and it really brings the attention to them.

Favorite Photos

Image
I liked this photo because of the perspective that it is shot at. The photography techniques that they used in this photo was balance, this is shown because the bright colors are all somewhat the same and the darker colors are also similar to each other so they balance out. I liked this photo because it showed a cool perspective on what the teacher was seeing the screen vs what the students were seeing. The photography technique that they used in this photo was rule of thirds because either the projector or the teachers head were not in the center, instead they were more off to the side. Academic Shoot: 1) I think that I could take photos like this either in a fine arts class 2) I would like to go into a dance class or a cheer class 3) I will make sure that I am using all of my photography techniques that we have learned

Filling the Frame

Image
This photo fills the frame, because as you can see the top corners are filled with the persons' mask and the bottom corners are showing the sparks flying from the metal that is being cut. The bottom right corner has space that is open but it is creating a 'pathway' for something that may be moving in that direction that you wouldn't to be cut off.

Action and Emotion

Image
In this photo it looks like the girl with the tiara on won an award, she looks extremely happy and excited about this and so does her family surrounding her. You can tell by their expressions on their faces, smiling and screaming with joy.

The Story

Image
This photo tells a story through the expressions on their faces and the wildlife surrounding them in the background. I think that they are on a trip somewhere in the wild. The girl and the guy in the center of the photo are looking at a something above her and they look happy about where they are and what they are seeing.

Post Shoot Reflection

1) Some challenges that I encountered while taking these photos were trying to find something original that no one has done yet, also trying to find something that really embraced the topic of the photo. 2) Some of the technical aspects that I found myself thinking about the most was making sure that the main focus of my photo was on the object that I was trying to take the picture of. Something that I did to make sure I was doing this correctly was checking that I had auto focus on so that the background would not distract from the main focus of the image. 3) A way that I found myself changing to accommodate the rules of composition of the photo was making sure that I had objects surrounding the main focus by framing it. 4) Edited Photos 5) I don't think that I would be interested in shooting with these prompts again because it there are not many objects to take pictures up that would fit into these categories that I could find around Bowie. 6) I think it would be fun to shoo
