Ethics in Fashion Photography

1. The changes that were made on the model's face using photoshop were that her facial features were brought closer together, towards the center of her face, smaller jaw bone/ chin, bigger eyes, bigger lips, smaller neck, smaller shoulders. 2. The changes that were made to the model's body using photoshop were clearing up her skin, altering her facial features to make them closer together, bigger eyes, smaller nose, hiding her teeth, adding more color to her face and body, making her skinnier everywhere, lengthening her legs, then going back through and making her body more of a neutral skin color but shinier, and lengthening her neck. 3. The changes that were made to the model using photoshop were that they turned a pizza into a person. They completely took away all of the color, shaped it into a girl, and added all the facial features, body features, clothes, hair, and human coloring. 4. American Soldier

Image
1. I find this image the most powerful because it is when Fisher finally begins to take the whole "being a soldier" deal seriously, and changes up his act. In this photo he is reporting for his first trip to Fort Carson, and he is actually excited for it. 2. All of the images work together to tell a story because it shows the paths of life that Fisher took when becoming/training to be a soldier. As well as the stories behind his relationships, his training, on the job, and his drug problems, and then how he overcame all of his issues. 3. The captions enhance the photographs because when you are just looking at the images by their-selves it will look just like any other soldier training for the army, but once you read the captions it explains how there is more struggles that are happening in his life "behind the scenes". 4. Ian Fisher wanted to join the army, but he had to receive his diploma first, so he did. And on June 1st, 2007 he was recruited for the ar

Funny Captions

1. Mary and John Smith, an 87 year old couple had been caught "giving helpful advice" to a group of  teenagers at a local store earlier this afternoon. The teenagers had complained about having bad wifi connections on their iPhones. 2. 90 year old man, Jeff stops at a downtown store earlier today when he decided that it's best if he locks up his walker outside so he doesn't have to bring it in with him. Jeff was in need of a new pair of shoes and when he was going to enter the store he realized a sign, it said to pay the parking meter to park your car on the curb for 30 min so he decided that it also meant walkers. 3. 95 year old man Bobby Joe had been spotted earlier today preforming on the streets of downtown New York for "all his fans". Bobby Joe had recently seen another street performer playing his guitar and getting money so he decided to do the same so he could finally get that toy train he had always wanted.

Loch Ness Monster

1. I chose this image because it looked like an older photo that I had seen before, what caught my eye was the head sticking out of the water. 2. This photo taken by british doctor  Robert Wilson in April 1934, of the "Loch Ness Monster". But he had also been sent wild-game hunter Marmaduke Wetherell to cover up an earlier fraud. London's Daily mail sent him to Scottland to find the monster and get more images but he ended up not getting anything. 3. When London Daily Mail discredited Wetherell, he returned back with a loch ness monster made out of a toy submarine. 4.  5. I read that the photographer was working for sports illustrated and he was at this boxing match to take photos. He took a photo right after Ali won and he got the bet photo in the house. 3. In the video it aid the Ali was going against Sonny Lipton in a fight, everyone thought Sonny was going to win but, Ali defeated sonny. Everyone wanted them to rematch because they didn't believe Ali beat him, so they rematched and Ali won again using what people call the phantom punch and then the photographer shot his photo. 4.  5. Famine in Somalia

Image
1. I picked this image because it looked really sad and I wanted to know the story behind it, what caught my eye was the people in the photo. 2. The photographer couldn't get a assignment in 1992 for the spiraling famine in Somalia, So he decided to go there by himself and he took this photo of a woman waiting to be bring to the feeding area. The price in Somalia raised so many people couldn't afford the food they need. The red cross saw this new thing and helped, over 1.5 million people.   3. I learned from the video was that a war was in Somalia and they only allowed certain people to get food and a lot of the population was starving because of this. The photographer was taking photos to raise awareness of this terrible thing that was happening. It ended up saving millions of people's lives. 4.  5. Milk Drop Coronet

Image
1. I chose this image because it is a really dynamic photo, with bright colors that pop against the other colors. 2.  Harold Edgerton was the first person to take a good photo in the dark without bulky equipment, and the technology that he used laid the foundation for the modern electronic flash. Also some of his milk-drop photos were black and white and one was was put in the first photography exhibition at NYC museum of Modern Art in 1937. For his Milk Drop Coronet photo he used stop motion, which freezes the impact of a drop of milk on a table. 3. This picture proved that photography could advance human understanding of the world, and the technology that he used laid the foundation for the modern electronic flash. 4.   5. Earthrise

Image
1. I chose this image because it was a very cool picture that had a solid black background with a pop of color (earth). 2. On December 24, 1968, 75 hours after Apollo 8 took off from Cape Canaveral, to become the first manned mission to orbit the moon. Frank B, Jim L, Bill A, had entered lunar orbit on christmas eve, and at the beginning at the fourth of ten orbits, they were coming up from the side of the moon when they saw the earth peeking out from the darkness. And that is when they took this photo, the first colored photo, of our planet from space. 3. I learned that this image helped launch the environmental movement, and helped humans realize that they have it good living on earth compared to the cold and harsh cosmos. 4. 5. Abandoned Theme Parks

Image
1. The amusement park that made me want to visit and take my camera along was the "Land of OZ" theme park in Beach Mountain, North Carolina. What made me want to go there was the eerie feel that the photos would give when you took them. Also because there were multiple settings that you could visit, and take pictures of. 2.  3.  -Salar de Uyuni, Bolivia      -Kuang Si Falls, Luang Prabang, Laos      -Torres del paine National Park, Patagonia Chile      -Northern Lake Baikal, Russia      -Huacachine, Peru 4. Photo by: All That's Interesting - Northern Lake Baikal, Russia 5. I think that it would be fun to document Northern Lake Baikal in Russia because in the winter time this clear freshwater lake freezes over and shards of turquoise ice is formed on the top of the water. What interests me about this place is that since the water is so clear when it freezes over you can see the frozen ice shards quite far down in the water which give a good perception of how
